Attention Americans, Canadians, and Grid Iron Fans. Here is a short list of the best places to be when this Superbowl goes on in Melbourne. So get your gear and get ready for some early morning beer and cheer!

    #1: Turf Bar (CBD)

    131 Queen Street, Melbourne VIC 3000, (03) 9670 1271

Argumentably the most dedicated sports bar in Melbourne. Seating options have already sold out, so expect a crowd. Standing room only. Doors Open at 9am

    #2: The Leveston (North Melbourne)

    46 Leveson Street, North Melbourne VIC 3051, (03)9328 1109

Cheerleaders! Breakfast Buffet and Beer specials? All in a Beer Garden? What else can you want? It is definately worth heading to this side of town.

    #3: TGI Fridays (South Yarra)

    500 Chapel Street, South Yarra VIC 3141, (03)9826 5088

TGI Friday’s is the last place you’d expect to catch Americans watching the game, unless they’re abroad. Seating options here are also booked up, but plenty of standing room and free wifi to stream the us commercials Doors open 9:30

#4: Sports Bar at Crown Casino (Southbank)

    Ground Level – Main Gaming, 1/8 Whiteman Street, Southbank VIC 3006, 3 9292 6910

Get here early for seating. How early? Well, its a 24h bar, so you do the math. The sports bar plays anything from all over the world. So, instead of putting the betting with the bookies, put that money into roulette and not suffer when the other team wins.

#5: St. Kilda Pubs (St. Kilda)

With thousands of backpackers who have no jobs, no school, with their own savings to burn (or their mum and pops' money), and looking for an excuse to get drunk, St. Kilda can be the place to be. Bars such as the Hotel Barkley and The Ritz plan on being open early for the crowd. So if you just happen to wake up in St. Kilda and aren't keen on travelling far, find a spot. Bonus: You can sleep off the booze on the beach, and get a burn.

    Honorable Mention: Online

For the first time ever, www.nfl.com and www.nbcsports.com will stream the game live. And yes, it will have the same commercials millions of Americans rave about and special options only avaliable to those net savy fans such as different angles and replay options. Now if only you can get hold of a million calories of wings, pizza, and chips, and Miller Lite, and you can be Footballin' like an American. Bonus: Head to a pub that has free wifi, for the best of both worlds!

In 2008, as the U.S. engaged in the Iraq War and the nation prepared for an historic presidential election, Badu presented her own offering for the evolving times with New Amerykah Part One: 4th World War. Badu’s fourth studio album and the first installment of the two-part New Amerykah series kept Badu’s Hip-Hop spirit kindled. New Amerykah Part One boasts beats from the best soundsmiths in the game — including Madlib, 9th Wonder, Shafiq Husayn (for Sa-Ra Creative Partners), Sa-Ra, Karriem Riggins, Ahmir “?uestlove” Thompson of The Roots, James Poyser, Georgia Anne Muldrow, and Mike “Chav” Chavaria. With the singles “Honey” and “The Healer” generating significant cyberspace buzz, Badu reclaimed her cherished throne as a soul music phenom. New Amerykah Part One debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart and Rolling Stone named it one of the year’s best albums. For the once self-proclaimed “analog girl,” Badu is now pushing the limits of the digital world. On February 1, 2009, Badu and boyfriend Jay Electronica blogged about the birth of their daughter Mars Merkab in real-time on the micro-blogging site Twitter, thus becoming the first celebrity couple to ever Tweet the birth of a child.

In 2010, Badu announced yet another new arrival: New Amerykah Part Two: Return Of The Ankh. Whereas Part One was social and political in tone, Part Two taps into the more romantic and emotional side of Badu. “It reminds me of the days of Baduizm,” she says. “It’s just about beats and rhymes in a cipher.”

Indeed, diehard fans of Badu will love New Amerykah Part Two: Return Of The Ankh and newcomers to Badu’s world will be curiously intrigued by the mystique and authenticity of an artist who is totally comfortable in her own skin. Whether directing a dope music video or exposing her vulnerabilities in rhyme, Badu transcends image. Just like the Santeria priest she met in Cuba, Badu no longer tries to be, she just is.

  • Like many late-'90s metal bands, System of a Down struck a balance between '80s underground thrash metal and metallic early-'90s alternative rockers like Jane's Addiction. Their dark, neo-gothic alternative metal earned a cult following in the wake of the popularity of such likeminded bands as Korn and the Deftones.

Fast-talking, foul mouthed Jay and his “hetero life partner” Silent Bob will tour Australia this April with their highly praised live comedy show, Jay & Silent Bob Get Old.

Following the release of the cult-classic film Clerks in 1994, long time friends Jason “Jay” Mewes and Kevin “Silent Bob” Smith quickly became much loved stoner icons, with their mischievous characters going on to star in Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back and Clerks 2, all of which were written and directed by Smith.

The duo have toured Jay & Silent Bob Get Old through the US, recording each evening and then releasing the audio as a free podcast, resulting in the show being ranked the #1 podcast on iTunes Comedy. The shows are a sometimes touching, always hilarious, and a very honest insight into what happens when two people grow up together in the Hollywood limelight.

Now Australian fans will have the opportunity to be a part of the popular podcast series and see their slacker heroes on stage doing what they love, telling stories and poking fun at each other. Jay and Silent Bob are getting old, come watch it as it happens!
