White Night Reimagined 2019

To celebrate the end of winter in Melbourne,  three of Melbourne’s iconic parks will be transformed to host the legendary White Night Reimagined over three nights. Birrarung Marr, Carlton Gardens, and the Treasury Gardens will play host to the event, with each area focussing on something different and exciting to cater to the customers. Staying at Habitat HQ makes it simple to attend the White Night Festival - you just need a ticket for the tram and in 20 minutes you will be there.

This year’s White Night will be unlike any other year, and thus the name White Night Reimagined. This is the first time since 2013 that the festival will be completely reimagined and will take the best of all the previous White Nights.

The Carlton Gardens will play host to one of the highly anticipated events - Mad Max Fury Road, the cult film which was remade a few years ago and won plenty of awards at the Oscars. Apart from this, there will be heaps of other events for attendees to enjoy.

The iconic cultural institutions, including the National Gallery of Victoria, State Library Victoria, Melbourne Museum, just to name a few, will stay open for extended hours. Restaurants in and around the area will stay open longer as well and will also have a lot more on the menu.

A brief history

The White Night initially began in Paris in 2002, celebrating the French capital’s art scene in an all-night event. The first White Night to take place in Melbourne was in 2013 and it was a huge success with over 300,000 people attending the event over the night. The 2018 White Night saw a record 628,000 people attend.

With the festival being reimagined this year, we can expect the participation to increase.

Habitat HQ is a perfect location for your accommodation during your attendance at Melbourne White Night 2019. There is a tram stop out the front and a direct tram trip to the city is only 20 minutes. Gather up your friends and book your accommodation now as Melbourne is likely to be booked out for this huge international event.
